The Leader:
Enjolras' main function in the story is to lead, in every sense of the word. He is a strategic leader, laying the plans of the revolution ("Well, Courfeyrac, do you have all the guns? Feuilly, Combeferre, our time is running short!" – Les Miserables, Schonberg and Boublil). But he is also a rallying leader, able to convince others through his own conviction. He is described as a "savage Antinous" – people follow him because they admire, respect and are even slightly afraid of him, and not necessarily because they like him.
